4C Hair Chronicles: Length Retention & Growth

It never ceases to amaze me at how amazed people are when I show them the length of my hair. I feel like people really think just because I have MAJOR shrinkage that what they see is really all they get when it comes to my hair.

WRONG HOMIE! 

MY HAIR IS DUMB LONG!!! SOMEONE GIVE ME A FLAT IRON (sike)

Immediately after people see how long my hair is...their next question is how do I grow and retain my length?!

Length retention and hair growth are HUGE topics in the natural hair community especially for women with type 4 hair that can be...a tad challenging to say the least.

We have so many obstacles to deal with, single strand knots, super dry hair, easily damaged tresses and more. Most of the time it seems like the cards are stacked against us and our tight little kinks and coils.

Im sure you have seen my stretched styles like the one above on my instagram @Theprettygirlsguide that get all the love.

But I just realized I've never let you in on my actual hair care routine or what I do to help FiFi be all that she can be!

In about a year & what I've been doing to keep Fifi fabulous, growing and retaining length.

*note* yes I know coiled is spelled wrong in the first frame -___- that will teach me to edit at 4 am!
