Ok so "New Year New Me" is officially TWO FULL months ago and lets be honest that list of New Years resolutions you made are nowhere to be found.

What's even worse is that I know exactly what my major resolution was. It was to get in shape....and i've sucked all of January and February at trying to stick to it.
Theres been excuse after excuse, I was just getting over the holidays, I had just finished moving, I had to find a gym to join ....
The list could go on...but as I continued to come up with excuses on why I couldn't or wasn't working out. I realize that nothing will change until I did, so for March I decided to buckle down and really start working on getting healthy and I wanted to share the seven ways i'm jumpstarting my fitness with you!
Now I know getting healthy and getting in shape is a constant work in progress and is definitely not as easy as it was when I was 17 and playing 4 sports.
But when I looked over my lifestyle I realize some immediate changes I could make that would help not only give me more energy and motivation to work out but also put me in a healthier state ASAP.

These little tips have helped me and I hope they help you.

I promise you this is my biggest struggle and I am constantly having to remind myself to work on it but getting more sleep this essential. Not sleeping messes up so many of the bodies general functions. I tend to stay up till at least 2 am most days and have to be up by 6:30am (which never happens). I wake up tired, irritable and want to do nothing for the rest of the day.
Im going to attempt to give myself a 11:30 bedtime at the latest on weekdays to help with this.

2. Drinking more water
DJ Khalid said it the best....major key. Making sure your body takes in enough water is a key to life, like literally you can die if you don't drink enough fluids and water is the best for you. I have struggled with my water intake my whole life and even used to get hospitalized for dehydration when I was a kid. Now I'm a little more responsible but still find myself no drinking enough.

This may sound like common knowledge but honestly I feel like a lot of people forget that Fruit Snacks and strawberry flavored ice-cream don't count as eating fruit.
Trust me...ive done the research LOL!
Fruit and vegetables should be a huge portion of your diet they provide a good balance for all the other crud we eat and are packed with vitamins and antioxidants. My general plan going forward is replacing most snacks (cookies, candy etc) with fruit and vegetables.
I also recently got a magic bullet so I may attempt to replace one meal a day with a smoothie!

Chile, anytime you're trying to get healthy it's important to make sure that your body is getting the nutrients that it needs. Especially if you're incorporating a diet taking daily vitamins can help a lot. I've started to take a few different Natures Bounty vitamins and while I have yet to feel any different, I have noticed I have not gotten sick since I started taking them.
When you're working out it's easy to get discouraged because you don't feel as though you're doing enough or don't see immediate changes. A great way to avoid that disappointment and see that you're actually making progress is to have a visual. Using devices like the Fitbit and apps like My Fitness Pal and taking measurements help sooooooo much.

7. Buying new workout clothes
It might sound crazy but when you look good you feel good! So having some new gear will make you want to work even harder...either that or run to Starbucks but at least you're running.
